Soulful independent artist, Oya Thomas, highly anticipated new single “LOVE” is now available. It is a heartfelt tribute to the divine beauty of the world as felt through the Spirit of Oya.
"LOVE"
is one of 10 tracks off her soon to be released debut album “Spirit of
Oya”. The project is a fusion of R&B/Soul, Jazz, Funk, Pop and
Gospel and will be released on September 23, 2012. Infused with
compassion and divine energy, Oya uses her voice as an instrument to
weave textured stories and melodies, that vibrate with the
transformative power of music.
Her
original songs and thoughtful interpretations of timeless favorites,
pay homage to the authentic storytellers and creators that most
influenced her, including Whitney Houston, Prince, Marvin Gaye and
Stevie Wonder.
Oya
voices her interpretation of music by stating, “Music is a movement.
It is the flow and breath of life born of rhythmic and melodic essence
and, much like our spirit, imbued with infinite possibilities.” Her
mission behind the music is to spread love, inspiration and joy while
raising the vibration and connection of people.
The
musical vibrations come to life on “LOVE”, as Oya has enlisted the
artistic vision of Ryan Cross, a celebrated cellist and bass player, who
has graced the recording studio and stage with Chaka Khan, Gladys
Knight and Rihanna. And Brandon Coleman, a highly renowned pianist who
has worked with notables such as Rachelle Ferrell and Babyface.
With
an innate fervor for growth as an artist, Oya continues to ignite her
exceptional spark through her art. Her debut solo album "Spirit of Oya"
will release September 23, 2012.
